Bookstore Refund Policy
**All Returns Require A Receipt**
Textbook Returns
Textbooks are returnable for a refund:
- If the textbook (including all additional pieces) are returned in the original purchase condition.
- If returned within the following time parameters (calculated using the class start date):
- Week One – For any reason
- Week Two – If the class was dropped or cancelled
- After Week Two – Three (3) days from the date of purchase
- Week One - For any reason (ie. dropped, cancelled, or do not need)
- After Week One – Three (3) days from date of purchase
15 Week Classes
8 Week Classes
1-3 Week Classes – Three (3) days from the class start date
One Day Classes – Prior to the class start date
Digital Material Returns
- Printed Access Cards -- If the printed access code has been revealed, the code is not returnable. If the access code has not been revealed, please see the time parameters above.
- Cengage Unlimited – Refundable within thirteen (13) calendar days of purchase date
- Instant Access – If you have purchased your digital platform elsewhere, you have one week from the class start date to opt out. Login to your course in BlackBoard to find the opt out button. When you opt out, the NWTC Bookstore will request a credit be applied to your student account.
- RedShelf eBooks – Refundable within fourteen (14) calendar days after the purchase is made, whichever occurs first. Refunds cannot be fulfilled if more than 10% of the product has been viewed or if any of the pages of the content has been printed.
- VitalSource eBooks – Refundable within fourteen (14) calendar days of purchase if no more than 20% of the eTextbook has been viewed and/or printed.
How do I know if my eBook is RedShelf or VitalSource? - If you purchased online, there is a note next to the digital price that indicates if it is a RedShelf or VitalSource eBook
- If you purchased in the store, the receipt will note if the book is a RedShelf or VitalSource eBook
- To request a refund for a RedShelf or VitalSource ebook purchased on the NWTC Bookstore Website, click here. Please provide your name, order number, and eBook title.
Supply and Apparel Returns
Apparel and supplies are returnable for a refund within fourteen (14) calendar days of purchase under the following conditions:
- Apparel cannot be washed or worn and must have the original tags
- Electronics must be returned in the original, unopened packaging
Reference Book Returns
Printed reference books are returnable within three (3) calendar days of purchase and must be in the same condition in which they were purchased.
Defective Items
All (including textbooks) defective items will be exchanged. Exchanges of defective items must occur within thirty (30) calendar days of purchase
How will my refund be issued?
- Refunds will be issued to the same method of payment used at the time of purchase.
- Refunds for cash, check, or debit purchases will be accommodated depending on available funds. If there are not enough available funds, a check request will be submitted to the College’s Finance Department for the full amount of the refund.
How do I return my online order?
To return your online order, please use one of the options below:
• Drop them at one of our Campus or Center Locations.
• Bring them to the NWTC Bookstore on the Green Bay Campus during regular business hours. Please click here for our hours.

- The package must be postmarked within the time frame parameters outlined above under ‘Textbooks’. Textbooks not returned within the time parameter will be returned to the sender and the return shipping charge will be added to the student account.
- Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the sender
- A copy of the return form must be included. The Bookstore team is unable to determine who purchased the book and how it was paid for by scanning the barcode.
- Textbooks and other items received damaged will not be refunded or returned to the sender.
